It is what you read when you don't have to that determines what you will be when you can't help it. .... Oscar Wilde
Infinity is between the covers of a book. Books inform, entertain, move, teach, and persuade. But only if you read them. This semester, you and books will become better acquainted. Every six weeks or so, you will receive a short list of books recommended by the ATA CP teaching staff. These books will be like a favorite chocolate bar, movie, coach or friend – enjoyable, lovable, challenging or comforting. Your job is to pick a book from the list, read it, blog, comment and discuss.

Pooh and his "challenges" advice
Hi I'm Winnie the Pooh and find myself facing a new adventure everyday. Life is so fun and I enjoy talking and being around my friends, Eeyore and Piglet. I love to sing and eat honey. Honey is my favorite thing in the whole wide world. Well... besides Christopher Robin of coarse. When you find yourself in a challenging situation in life have perseverance and look to the people you love for advice. The friendships I have made keep me going and happy. Learn from me and get to know people.
Enjoy your journey
XOXO

Because of Winn Dixie: Winn Dixie
I am Winn Dixie and I solve problems with a smile. Smiling is the key to all solutions. I like to have fun whenever I possibly can and chase the mouse in the church. That is a really fun problem to solve! Other than that, I love my life and remember to always smile!

Congrats to those of you who have blogged and read. Continue reading. And here is your next blogging assignment.
1) In children's literature, the
protagonists are commonly children who act independently of adults to
meet and resolve various challenges. Their experiences may seem
fantastic or realistic; they may work alone or with friends. But
regardless of the characters' circumstances, they solve problems.
Choose, from your book, one of the
following characters. Write your next blog from that character's
point of view and in that character's voice. The topic of your blog
should be “Advice for Solving Problems and Facing Challenges”.
The character choices are: Pooh, Piglet, Mary, Dickon, Laura, Pa.
Hugo, India Opal Buloni, Winn-Dixie, or Salamanca.
2) Comment on two of your fellow bloggers' posts. Comments can provide analysis, ask for clarification, provoke discussion, or give support, but should never be derogatory or insulting.

Abysmal options
Not to complain or anything, but all of these books have really terrible covers. I was initially attracted to Because of Winn-Dixie since it's the only book on the list with a halfway decent title, but after a quick google image search yielded several horrifyingly sappy-looking pictures of a girl and a dog, I was frightened away. After finding that pretty much all the books have some combination of terrible name and/or title, I settled on Winnie the Pooh, which seemed the least offensive of all the options. Remember class, always judge a book by its cover. And title. Hasta luego.

Because of Winn-Dixie
Hey guys, sorry I'm a little late but I'll be reading Because of Winn-Dixie by Kate DiCamillo! I saw the movie and I loved it so I thought it'd be cool to read the book too.
